As newt and bat surveys begin to dominate our everyday(/night) work, June has also seen an unusual hike in large stewardship agreements, with our office becoming impassable for maps and forms. The busy office has reflected an equally busy farm, with sheep drenching and shearing taking place in the last few weeks. This season our ecologists however have been helped by the assistance of a work experience student from the Harper Adams conservation course, who has proved to be a valuable member of the team on site visits. Travelling further afield, we have been involved in wild flower ID work in Ireland, providing a welcome test and variation to our ecology work.
